Prostate Cancer Update
A Continuing Medical Education Audio Series

OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITY

Approximately 220,000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed yearly in the US, accounting for approximately one third of new cancer cases in men. Published results from clinical trials lead to the emergence of new surgical and radiation therapy techniques and therapeutic agents, along with changes in the indications for existing treatments. In order to offer optimal patient care — including the option of clinical trial participation — the practicing urologist, radiation oncologist and medical oncologist must be well informed of these advances. To bridge the gap between research and practice, this issue of Prostate Cancer Update features one-on-one discussions with radiation oncologist Dr Anthony Zietman and medical oncologist Dr Nancy A Dawson. By providing information on the latest research developments and expert perspectives, this CME activity assists clinicians with the formulation of up-to-date clinical management strategies.
